The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar-Ilan University promotes research on issues of national security in the Middle East. The BESA Center is interested in policy-oriented studies with specific reference to Israel, its neighbors, and strategic actors in the region.
The BESA Center welcomes research proposals by scholars from diverse disciplines. The criteria for approving a research grant are as follows: the quality of the proposed study, the interest of the BESA Center in the proposed subject, the length of time required to carry out the study, and the requested budget.
The BESA Center reserves the right to be the first to publish the studies it assists financially. If the study is published in other academic forums, the author must appropriately acknowledge the source of funding for the research. The BESA Center must also be informed of any publicity given to a study that it assisted.
The maximum grant is $10,000.
