Lunch with Vice Admiral James Foggo

On Sunday, January 4, 2015, the BESA Center was privileged to host Vice Admiral James Foggo for lunch.

Vice Admiral James Foggo is the United States Commander of the Sixth Fleet and Commander of the Naval Striking and Support Forces for NATO. He is also deputy commander of the U.S. Naval Forces for Europe and Africa. Since graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981, he has served his country in numerous roles and has received many awards for his services. In 1995, he received the Admiral Charles A. Lockwood Award for Submarine Professional Excellence and the State of Oklahoma Distinguished Service award by The Adjutant General. In 2006, he was awarded the Chevalier de lโ€™Ordre National de Meritรฉ by the French government for his role in improving Franco-American relations. Foggo is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Vice Admiral James Foggo was appointed to his current role by President Barak Obama in September 2014, and assumed his duties on December 15, 2014. We wish him the best of luck in his new role.
