February international conference on โ€œStrategic Challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean,โ€ with participants from Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Turkey, NATO, the US and Israel. The conference was jointly convened by the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies and B'nai B'rith International, with the participation of leaders of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The Greek Minister of Defense, Panos Kammenos, delivered a comprehensive and very forceful articulation of Greeceโ€™s view of the region.

Forceful foreign intervention may be required to protect the central Mediterranean from IS encroachment.
