Professor Eitan Shamir, BESA’s Managing Director, was invited to be a guest speaker at the Athens Security Forum, which was organized by the Institute for International Relations (IDIS) and took place on 29-30 November. Professor Shamir spoke after a speech by Israeli Ambassador to Greece Noam Katz on Israel’s war against Hamas. Professor Shamir’s remarks focused on the regional implications of the war and the alliances that have been formed and reinforced following the 7 October attack, such as the strategic alliance between Israel and Greece.
