The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies mourns the passing this week of Moshe Arens -- professor, ambassador, politician, and devoted servant of Israel. Prof. Arens was a member of the International Board of the BESA Center from its first inception, and was an active participant in our conferences and events for many years. He will be missed.

The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies and its Director, Efraim Karsh, mourn the passing of the mother of Judith Levy, one of the BESA Center's staff members.

The BESA Center for Strategic Studies was saddened to learn of the passing of Irwin Hochberg, a longtime friend of the Center and a tireless supporter of the State of Israel.

The Executive Council of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Efraim Karsh as the new center director. He succeeds Professor Efraim Inbar, who concludes a 25-year tenure as the center’s founding director.

Maj. Gen. (res.) Gershon Hacohen, Brig. Gen. (res.) Moni Chorev, Col. (res.) Dr. Eran Lerman, Ambassador Arye Mekel, and Prof. Udi Lebel have joined the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies as research associates, over the past year.
