Academic tour in the Netherlands

In late September 2023, Professor Eitan Shamir,  embarked on an academic tour in the Netherlands. His visit included two high-profile engagements that highlighted the ongoing importance of understanding the complexities of Middle Eastern conflicts.

On September 26, Professor Shamir delivered a lecture at the prestigious Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS). His presentation, titled “Tactical and Operational Insights from the Gaza War,” offered a critical analysis of recent military developments in the region. The event drew a diverse audience of policymakers, academics, and security professionals, fostering rich discussions on the implications of these insights for global security strategies.

Before his lecture, Professor Shamir had the honor of meeting with His Excellency Modi Ephraim, the Israeli Ambassador to the Netherlands.

The following day, September 27, saw Professor Shamir at the Dutch Defense Academy in Breda. There, he addressed students pursuing their Master’s degree in Security Studies. His lecture focused on the broader Middle East conflict in light of the recent October 7th events. This session offered students a unique opportunity to engage with a leading scholar on one of the most pressing security issues of our time.
