On 30 July 2024, the BESA Center hosted Dr. Jean-Loup Samaan, a Senior Research Fellow specializing in Middle East strategic affairs, with a particular focus on the Israel–Hezbollah conflict and the evolution of the Gulf security system. Dr. Samaan presented his latest book, New Military Strategies in the Gulf: The Mirage of Autonomy in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.
