On September 5 Professor Eitan Shamir, Director of the BESA Center, was hosted by Dr. Adrian Hänni, Senior Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ) in Munich, along with a team of German historians. During the visit, Prof. Shamir delivered a lecture on his recent book about Moshe Dayan.

Professor Shamir also provided testimony to historians working with the Commission of Historians, which is tasked with reappraising the attack at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. His contribution focused on the work and memoirs of his relative, Pinchas Shamir, who served as the Israeli Consul General in Munich at the time of the massacre. Pinchas Shamir’s personal diary contained invaluable information about the events.
